Commuter Showers
Commuter showers are single-stall shower rooms that have University-standard signage and secure access. The shower rooms are equipped with occupancy locks and emergency call boxes. Many of the showers have grab bars and benches and many of the rooms also have a toilet, sink, and, in some cases, a urinal. Other inclusive features such as ADA access, changing tables, and lockers can be found in some of the rooms.
Purpose
Commuter showers provide a place for employees and students to prepare for their day after utilizing active forms of transportation such as biking and walking. On campus, accessible showers also allow caregivers to assist an employee or student during the workday or school day. Providing a place for people to clean up and change has been shown to increase the number trips made by sustainable transportation and also may eliminate the need for extra trips away from campus for grooming or changing. The commuter showers support the economic and physical health and well-being of our campus users. In the absence of these features, a commuter may be forced into the expense of a personal vehicle for commuting and workday trips. These features support people of varying socioeconomic statuses and reduce the burden on individuals to pay for parking and rely on a motor vehicle.

Commuter Shower FAQ
Do shower rooms need to be reserved?
Showers are first come, first served, and are accessed by using your CSU Ram Card.
What do I do if there is an issue with a particular shower room?
Please contact the Building Proctor to report any issues with these rooms. Use the Building Proctor Identifier
Why isn’t the shower in my building included on this list?
The commuter showers on this list have been retrofitted with secure card reader access as well as emergency call boxes. While showers may be available in other buildings on campus, they may not have the same amenities and are therefore not included on this list. If you are interested in having a shower in your building fitted with card reader access and an emergency call box, please contact the Building Proctor.
